Dear Parents and Community Members,
I am thrilled to introduce myself as Rich Arkanoff, the new Superintendent of the Bowie Unified School District. It is truly an honor to join this exceptional community and serve alongside you.
With over 28 years in education, including roles as a Special Education Teacher, Building Principal, and Superintendent, I bring a deep commitment to the success and well-being of every student. My journey in education has been shaped by a belief that children deserve our very best, and I am dedicated to ensuring they receive the highest quality of education possible.
Prior to my career in education, I had the privilege of serving in the U.S. Army for eight years. One of my favorite times was serving right down the road at Fort Huachuca. These experiences have instilled in me values of integrity, service, and leadership which I bring to my role as your Superintendent.
Outside of work, I am blessed to share my life with my beautiful wife Beth, whom I've been married to for over 25 years. Together, we have eight adult children and find joy in family, friends, and creating lasting memories.
As we eagerly anticipate the start of the upcoming school year and the return of our students on August 5th, I am excited about the opportunities ahead for our district. Together, we will work collaboratively to ensure every child achieves their fullest potential.
As summer unfolds, I wish each of you a safe and happy summer filled with relaxation, exploration, and cherished moments with loved ones.
